the winter is coming
i can tell because
im eating unbuttered popcorn
and it tastes good
winter’ll do that-
lower your standards
it’ll also make you put on more clothes
it’ll make you angry at people
make you tired
i’ve been staying up late
but it don’t feel right to do that in the winter
pretty soon i’ll bust out the flannel sheet
and sleep through the dark parts
maybe even dream
but i don’t dream in the winter
winter’ll do that-
lower your standards

If you’ve never heard his music, you are missing out. His sunshiney, pseudo-psychedelic ballads really aren’t comparable to anything I’ve ever heard before. David Byrne plays some of the most amazing music i’ve ever heard. Talking Heads were really the first band I ever started listening to, and for a good reason.

I was lucky enough to see him in concert this past Wednesday at the Lyric and needless to say, I enjoyed it. I could go on with superlatives to describe him and his music; I could try to make you hear his music through words, but I think that would be useless, so I’ll stick to: It was great.

You really should give him a listen, you can hear his latest album in entriety here “One Fine Day” is especially good.

I wish I had more to say, but I don’t have too much. I’m revising my latest story which I hope to post soon; I joined a band playing guitar; I’m trying to finish reading Stephen King’s “The Stand” but that’s really not coming along.
